Running HYPERION-8.PRE-GM.BUILD.02 Very nice rom, love it! Its smooth and fast and looks awsome. I have only one small problem with it till now (after playing with it for 3 days intensivly) Im a noob on this so maybe i do something wrong... but if i install DropBearServerII on it. I get Server not ready busybox missing.
Installed busybox from google apps afterwards and then it works .... BUT after a reboot of the phone, i get the same message on tryin to start DropBearServerII. Reinstall busybox and it works again.

I am sorry but in Samsung based firmwares, only TouchWhiz launcher is ignored by the system.
For widgets, most task manager do close them when you send a clear command. If you want to have your launcher and widgets when clearing RAM, you may try this:
1. Install 3rd party task manager apps so you can tell the app to ignore your launcher and widgets and prevent it from closing when using "clear memory" or any similar function of the 3rd party task manager. 2. Freeze Task Manager (JobManager.apk) if you decide to use a third party task manager. You should do this to avoid conflicts.
I seem to have this frustrating problem with hyperion.... every time i make a call or receive one, i cant hear a thing, i tried rebooting, checked with the speakers, and the mic as well.... it seems to be creating a problem only whilst a call. wat do i do?!?
also, i have used nemesis 2,2.5, cm9, evo x4, jellynoid, miui, and none of them were stable for my handset, galaxy y gt s5360. It would be of great help if yu could suggest a stable rom with no vital bugs in them. priorities are, working home,settings,status bar, wifi, bluetooth, mobile network, calling, keyboard, and other mandatory basics...

There's a team named Black Star in XDA-Developers who worked in porting Hyperion for SGP. I am not sure if they ported Hyperion 8, but I think they will wait for Hyperion 8 GM befire they make another port. If I am not mistaken, they ported Hyperion 7 or 7.x for Samsung Galaxy Pocket
Tengo una duda, yo instale HYPERION 7 final master gold en mi samsung galaxy young gt-5360L y en la informacion del sistema aparecia que hyperion tenia instalado 512 mb de ram, siendo que mi SGY solo tiene 290 mb de ram, incluso cuando ingresaba al administrador de tareas me informaba que tenia 289 mb de ram,ademas cuando ocupaba el reproductor de musica esta se reproducia a saltos, (no era continua), para tratar de solucionar este problema instale una custom rom europea, pero perdi mi 3G, se pegaban las aplicaciones y demoraba en ingresar en los archivos de galeria. alguien me podria ayudar con esto? porfavor Carlos muñoz entel chile.
Are you getting "Application not installed" when trying to install apks not obtained from the market? If your answer is "Yes" then that means you need to wipe dalvik-cache. Most likely when you installed Hyperion you didn't wipe dalvik-cache. To solve this, please follow the steps below:
1. Reboot to recovery 2. From the main menu, select Advance (Advanced and Debugging) 3. From Advanced an Debugging, select wipe dalvik cache 4. After wiping dalvik cache, reboot your device
The above steps should fix your problem. In future if you will flash any ROM, make sure you clear dalvik cache to avoid this problem again
I bricked my phone after flashing the Hyperion 8...i was using Hyperion 7 and had no problems. However, i was able to revive my phone from Odin. but i am still no able to install hyperion 8.i followed all the instructions. Also, why was it discontinued on the xda forum page?

Hi, well i love Hyperion since i knew about it, however theres only one thing that bothers me and i have to look for another ROM, the thing is that i am using DroidVPN since i cant afford to get a data plan and it seems that Hyperion doesnt support it :(, however in the Tun.ko Repostery Database says that it is supported with the kernel 2.6.35.14 and the Build Number HYPERION-8.ALSA-PRE.GM-BUILD.02. So the Build Number is the one of Hyperion, but the kernel is 2.6.35.7, so is there any way to fix this? I really appreciatte an answer asap, since i want Hyperion D: Thnks
Nvm, i looked again and i found 2.6.35.7 (HYPERION-8.ALSA-PRE.GM-BUILD.02) Those are the ones from Hyperion 8, but when i open Tun.ko the phone starts vibrating like crazy and the screen goes black, so i have to take the battery out D: Any idea why does this happen? Thanks for your help ^^
NVM, xD i actually fixed that and make it run. However theres like a bug with the Wifi since sometimes it disconects. Otherwise is perfect ^^ I hope you can fix the wifi problem soon!

I noticed the following issue with the following status bar options (Settings>Parts>Statusbar>Battery Options & Signal Options). Clicking the 'Show Battery Icon' or the 'Show Signal Bars' options does not hide the battery icon or the signal bar. However the other options in the menus work fine (Battery Text Style or Signal Text Style etc). I tried (re)setting the options and did reboots, but the icons still remain on the status bar always. Is there any other option that needs to be enabled (or a supporting apk flashed) for these icons to be hidden?
The option Settings>Core>Performance>32 bit transparency cannot be saved. Once I am out of the menu and get back in again, it is reset.
The 5th app in the dock goes back to 4 after a reboot. I added the app in the dock and hit [Option]Save. The icon is there as long as there is no reboot. Needs a fix.
An update. The 5th application in the dock goes away when the orientation is changed from portrait to landscape or vice-versa in a normal scenario as well.

For those who want to mod their hyperion8 like change status bar icon you need to flash this first "db.tt/PgJUCGT5"...if not your phone will stuck when long press power button

I tryed the HYPERION-8.PRE-GM.BUILD.02.zip and i found there's a wifi bug,Sometimes the wifi icon looks gray, meaning it's still conected to a network but have no internet.
Many report after flash to hyperion 8 got stuck at logo S5360... And I also stuck at logo S5360... then I try flash kernel via Odin (I put boot.img from Hyperion 8 to files flashable odin)--> result success, no stuck n bootloop...
i have been testing your latest build that is hyperion 8 pre gm 2nd build since 2 weaks first of all it is an awsome rom and as you promised it is fastest an smothest rom ever made for galaxy y i have tested lot of roms but this is best
there are some small bugs in this build
1:- an option of 32 bit transparancy provided in setting -core -performance do not seem to work 2:- there is some problem with sound out put of this rom that is iam not abel to hear any sound form phone when not even in silent mode an even voume is max this is fixed after a reboot and happens again 3:- this is not exactly a bug but it causes inconvinience that is if phone is in silent mode and if i call any body i cannot hear any sound from earpeice it happens only in silent mode 4:-when this rom is used with merruk kernel 2.5 super user malfunctioned is root acess is not available that is all root aps donot work and if clicked on superuser app it says to update binary and after allowing it it shows installation failed
that is it for now if foun any other bug i will post here immidiatly

i discovered how to fix the merruk kernel root access bug. just replace the superuser apk with supersu apk from hyperion 7 that wil fix the merruk kernel root access bug. use system replacer.
i know how to fix the superuser bug when u use merruk kernel. just use the system app replacer in hyperion plus. replace the super user apk with the supersu apk from hyperion 7 . i already tested it and works. idol kta carl hehe kudos

It's a really smooth, and fast, a STABLE rom! I really like it, but I have a question. I want to oveclock my SGY for 1248mhz. If I do it, will it work stable like before, or it will crash in every hour like in other "good" roms?
Lesó I overclocked it with Merruk Kernel to 1248 MHz. It is stable most of times (if something doesn't work reboot your phone on recovery and then reboot from recovery). I recommend you to flash stock rom and stock kernel so you won't have any problem with Merruk Kernel 2.5 PS: If you want the maximum smoothness use also V6 Supercharger and Kick Ass Kernealizer Scripts (you can find a guide by Carl on XDA)
Hello sir, I have just installed Hyerion 8 with updates and hyperion plus. The rom was great..sleek, fast, and smooth. Although the only thing that bugs me right now is that whenever I try to download some apps (zedge and link2sd update) on Google Play, its just stuck on "downloading"..i tried deleting cache+data fix but still to no avail..any work around on this?..thanks..
Hey, i just flashed the ROM, and it's great. i love it! But, i got a little problem with it : i) i can't use my wifi, it says already connected but i can't browse the web nor do anything with the wifi ii) i have problem using the SuperSU, i can't have any root access with it

I had wifi problems too with Merruk kernel. I got tired of it and I finally flashed Percy GNU #10 kernel. But you can try installing the stock wifi driver from white xp thread (link:http://goo.gl/OHsZJ). If the stock driver doesn't work try the one compiled by whitexp. For the root problem, download Superuser (not supersu) from the Play Store, it worked for me. Link:http://goo.gl/Vd1y3
i have tried it, and it worked like charm~ really thankful for the advice, and i try ti reinstall the SuperSU and it worked too, so i''ll stick with SuperSU rather than using superuser. Long live hyperion!

first and foremost, i really love this rom. its fast, smooth, and eyes watering UI.. but somehow i found a bug in Google play services its says that i nvalid ID.. i would like to flash a gapps zip file via cwm but i coudn't find ir in the net.. can you provide me the download link please?
another thing is that the equalizer bug.. i flashed the updateHP.zip for the equalizer to fix but it take me to boot animation.. should i wipe dalvik cache first before flashing?

How to install fresh hyperion 8 : 1) download stock dxlf2 rom 2) flash stock with odin 3) download hyperion 8 4) download cwm by madteam from google 5) boot into stock recovery by pressing three key combination : vol up + home + power button until the splash screen comes out.Keep pressing for a few seconds then release. 6) after successful get into stock recovery,choose apply update from sd card 7) choose cwm by madteam.this will replace your stock recovery 8) select mount and storage 9) mount all then format everything exclude sdcard.after format,remount back everything 10) go back to home page and select install from sd card 11) choose install hyperion 8 and let the cwm do the work..sit back and wait it to complete 12) after installation complete reboot your phone 13) wait for a few second for the first time boot.it will took about 3-4 minutes..after 10 minutes still hang on the splash screen,go back to odin and reflsah to stock rom then retry the whole process
You can porting the Hyperion ROM for GT-S5570i as you wish, i've try to PORT xxxxxxx (sensor) ROM so that can be installed on GT-S5570i. But, what's happening? my phone can't Boot, when i try to Reboot my phone, it's shows only Samsung Galaxy Mini GT-S5570I after it, my phone back to Recovery Mode as automatically, and i solve that problem with getting back the Stock Rom by Samsung. I Have Installed This ROM And Followed All The Instructions And Everything Is Working On My Samsung Galaxy Young. There Is One Problem That I'm Having Using This ROM, My Phone Is Turn's Off Sometimes When Screen Timeout Activates... Tried Several Options From 30 Secs To 30 Mins And Still The Same. I Also Tried Manually And After A Few Secs My Phone Doesn't Turn On And I Need To Turn It On Again.
I'm so determined when I decided to installing this ROM on my unlocked-rooted GT-S5363 O2 UK. But, with some prayers when flashing it. Finally, I did make it. It was astonishingly beautiful and snappier enough compared back to the TouchWiz stock ROM, but because of its bugs I went back to my stock one. I hope there are more updates coming...

I am using this ROM for about 7 days and I can say that It's the best ROM for Samsung Galaxy Y S5360. BUG free, smooth and fast. Good work Carl, well done. Waiting for the final release.

I tryed the HYPERION-8.PRE-GM.BUILD.02.zip and i found there's a wifi bug,Sometimes the wifi icon looks gray, meaning it's still conected to a network but have no internet.

since 2 weaks
first of all it is an awsome rom and as you promised it is fastest an smothest rom ever made for galaxy y i have tested lot of roms but this is best
there are some small bugs in this build
1:- an option of 32 bit transparancy provided in setting -core -performance do not seem to work
2:- there is some problem with sound out put of this rom that is iam not abel to hear any sound form phone when not even in silent mode an even voume is max this is fixed after a reboot and happens again
3:- this is not exactly a bug but it causes inconvinience that is if phone is in silent mode and if i call any body i cannot hear any sound from earpeice
it happens only in silent mode
4:-when this rom is used with merruk kernel 2.5 super user malfunctioned is root acess is not available that is all root aps donot work and if clicked on superuser app it says to update binary and after allowing it it shows installation failed
that is it for now if foun any other bug i will post here immidiatly
i hope we woul get finaly get the perfect rom ever

i discovered how to fix the merruk kernel root access bug. just replace the superuser apk with supersu apk from hyperion 7 that wil fix the merruk kernel root access bug. use system replacer.

ReplyDeleteLesó I overclocked it with Merruk Kernel to 1248 MHz. It is stable most of times (if something doesn't work reboot your phone on recovery and then reboot from recovery). I recommend you to flash stock rom and stock kernel so you won't have any problem with Merruk Kernel 2.5

Although the only thing that bugs me right now is that whenever I try to download some apps (zedge and link2sd update) on Google Play, its just stuck on "downloading"..i tried deleting cache+data fix but still to no avail..any work around on this?..thanks..

I had wifi problems too with Merruk kernel. I got tired of it and I finally flashed Percy GNU #10 kernel. But you can try installing the stock wifi driver from white xp thread (link:http://goo.gl/OHsZJ). If the stock driver doesn't work try the one compiled by whitexp.

ReplyDeletefirst and foremost, i really love this rom. its fast, smooth, and eyes watering UI.. but somehow i found a bug in Google play services its says that i nvalid ID.. i would like to flash a gapps zip file via cwm but i coudn't find ir in the net.. can you provide me the download link please?
another thing is that the equalizer bug.. i flashed the updateHP.zip for the equalizer to fix but it take me to boot animation.. should i wipe dalvik cache first before flashing?
the last thing is the Sound Manager in the Setting.. it forces to close.. :(

How to install fresh hyperion 8 :
ReplyDelete1) download stock dxlf2 rom
2) flash stock with odin
3) download hyperion 8
4) download cwm by madteam from google
5) boot into stock recovery by pressing three key combination : vol up + home + power button until the splash screen comes out.Keep pressing for a few seconds then release.
6) after successful get into stock recovery,choose apply update from sd card
7) choose cwm by madteam.this will replace your stock recovery
8) select mount and storage
9) mount all then format everything exclude sdcard.after format,remount back everything
10) go back to home page and select install from sd card
11) choose install hyperion 8 and let the cwm do the work..sit back and wait it to complete
12) after installation complete reboot your phone
13) wait for a few second for the first time boot.it will took about 3-4 minutes..after 10 minutes still hang on the splash screen,go back to odin and reflsah to stock rom then retry the whole process

But, what's happening? my phone can't Boot, when i try to Reboot my phone, it's shows only Samsung Galaxy Mini GT-S5570I after it, my phone back to Recovery Mode as automatically, and i solve that problem with getting back the Stock Rom by Samsung. May i know how you PORT ROM ? i want to know

ReplyDelete1. make a copy of the rom (HYPERION-8.PRE-GM.BUILD.02.zip)
2.open this zip file with winrar and delete the file boot.img
3. copy the rom to your sd-card and install normally.
4. the second copy of the rom(HYPERION-8.PRE-GM.BUILD.02.zipCOPY) YOU will pass to your sd-card and install normally.
no problems with me
this will work only with stock rom

ReplyDeleteI'm so determined when I decided to installing this ROM on my unlocked-rooted GT-S5363 O2 UK. But, with some prayers when flashing it. Finally, I did make it.
ReplyDeleteIt was astonishingly beautiful and snappier enough compared back to the TouchWiz stock ROM, but because of its bugs I went back to my stock one.
I hope there are more updates coming...

ReplyDeleteFirst of all, good job on Hyperion 9 - It looks and works great on a wee Galaxy Y GT-S5360 that I have give to my daughter.
The installation went fine and I used the built in feature to 'unlock' the phone and everything seemed to go well.....however....
The process seems to have wiped the IMEI number, as such the phone is not working at all so I am keen to get this resolved.
If there is a fix already available, it would be great if you could point me in the right direction as I'm keen to get it resolved asap :)
